BATTLE CREEK, MI (WNWN/WTVB) – The Calhoun County Public Health Department has announced they are distributing free gun locks to residents of Calhoun County who have firearms in their homes and children residing with them.
The locks will be available at the Calhoun County Public Health Department offices and various community events throughout the county.
The locks are free to anyone who owns a firearm and has a child residing with them. No questions will be asked.
Along with the locks, the department is planning to provide educational materials on safe firearm storage and the importance of gun safety.
The gun locks can be picked up during regular business hours at the Public Health Department offices on Market Place in Albion and at 190 East Michigan Avenue in Battle Creek.
They will also be available at various community events attended by Health Department staff.
