KALAMAZOO, MI (WKZO AM/FM) – There are eleven west Michigan counties, including Kalamazoo and Calhoun counties, under a Winter Storm Warning through 7:00 a.m. Saturday.
The National Weather Service says as much as a foot of snow is possible, primarily west of US-131 from Kalamazoo to just north of Grand Rapids.
Heavy snow is expected with a total snow accumulations of 6 to 12 inches being forecast in Kent, Ionia, Barry, Eaton, Kalamazoo and Calhoun Counties.
Further west, total snow accumulations of 8 to 14 inches are expected in Ottawa, Allegan and Van Buren counties through Saturday morning.
Cass and Berrien Counties are under a Winter Storm Warning until 10:00 a.m. Thursday for up to ten inches of lake effect snow.
Winds will be from the west and southwest between ten and 15-miles-per-hour, which will reduce visibility. Slick roads are expected.
